Titan-Piston Maiolo produces high-performance pistons for racing and other applications
Titan-Piston Maiolo specializes in the production of 2-stroke pistons for racing and classic cars. Our passion for racing and classic cars helps us to combine tradition with innovation.
We also offer the possibility for small series, prototype, one-off production for vintage engines, etc.
Start of the development of the "RS-Racing" piston production, with the new casting process. Titan-Piston Maiolo draws on its many years of experience with the conventional casting process.
Pistons for classic cars ("vintage") made from bars, so we are not dependent on a casting mold, ideal for custom-made products.
Launch of the T.P.M. piston ring.
Introduction of the "GTR-Racing" piston version.Einführung der "GTR-Racing" Kolben Version.
In order to optimize the quality of the pistons, we have decided in the year 2016, to relocate the complete production from external suppliers to in-house-production.
THEREBY WE HAVE THE POSSIBILITY, TO PRODUCE ON OUR CUSTOMER-REQUESTS INDIVIDUAL PISTONS.
100% SWISS MADE
In-house engineered die-casting with comparable strength as forged pistons. In two versions "GT-Racing" and "GTS-Racing"
Firts disc for clutches 1,5mm, version "Racing", manufactured out of special alloy.
Reduction of weight up to 138g allows correspondingly to improve the engine performance.
100% SWISS MADE
First trials of the new casting process
Introduction of the "ST-Racing" version, without separate insert.
Foundation of Titan-Piston Maiolo GmbH
The decision by the FIA/CIK with the new engine regulation changes set us back a few more steps.
A time that was very costly and time-consuming.
Unfortunately, the harsh winter of 2005-2006 put the brakes on our test phases on open tracks and forced us to carry out the tests on the engine test bench.
At the same time, we had to organise tests in the south in good weather.
The first prototypes arrived in December 2004 and the advantages were immediately noticeable.
Development work on piston weight, expansion behaviour, piston geometry, temperature behaviour etc. was in full swing.
The development of the "RS-Racing" pistons for 100cc kart engines began in July 2003.
A very difficult endeavour, as the loads on these pistons are very high at speeds above 20,000 rpm.
After many converted pistons, we made the decision to manufacture series pistons.
First contact with a two-piece piston. We called this piston type "RS-Racing"
As Nino Maiolo raced himself, he was constantly looking for ways to tune and improve his engines. His first thoughts about the potential of the two-piece piston emerged.
Recycling
Join in and help us to make karting more environmentally friendly. Not only do we want to produce in a more environmentally friendly way, we also want to make a contribution to environmental protection when disposing of used pistons. We would therefore ask you to send your used Titan-Piston pistons and others to our site in Switzerland (contact) so that they can be disposed of properly.
Tradition meets innovation.
